Since Algorand Foundation launched its Development Awards Program last year, many developers around the world have been eager to participate. After thorough review and selection, we are delighted to announce that Singapore based firm Eastern Blu Entertainment’s Music Copyright and Licensing Registry has received a development award.
Eastern Blu Entertainment (EB Ledger) is a blockchain platform that transforms the music entertainment industry into a radically transparent, more equitable ecosystem. It connects stakeholders across the industry and unlocks new value and profit for the entire value chain. Ultimately, EB Ledger aims to become the de facto music entertainment blockchain platform, improving the bottom line of publishers and labels, the livelihood of artists and creators, and the satisfaction of fans and the general public.
Music Copyright and Licensing Registry is a project for copyright owners to publicly demonstrate their works thereby creating more opportunities to get better income from the works and at same time enjoying quick and efficient payment of royalties earned.
“Other than helping to expedite the development of our DApp, we want to be associated with a really decentralized and trustworthy public blockchain in Algorand. This is key in registering copyright contents, licensing and the distribution of royalties that are subject to public scrutiny, transparent and can be used as conclusive proof of existence in legal courts.” said Lim Tai Wah, the founder of EB Ledger. “Meanwhile, Algorand provides us the scalability to make micropayments at relatively low cost.”
Algorand Foundation is proud to support this project with funding through the Algorand Development Award program.
