Algorand Foundation supports Activate Hackathon student participants with scholarships

New York, NY, United States, May 17th, 2022 - The Algorand Foundation is excited to send students from top blockchain student clubs on scholarships to the Activate x Wormhole Hackathon in Miami.  “We are committed to student support and engagement with student organizations and see them as crucial contributors to innovation and success in blockchain technologies,” underlines Hugo Krawczyk, Principal Researcher and Head of the Algorand Centres of Excellence (ACE) programme. “Supporting talent  from student initiatives like Kryptosphere, Boiler Blockchain and Princeton Blockchain Society helps create a vibrant environment for the next generation of blockchain natives. Participation in hackathons is a tremendous learning opportunity and gives students a platform to leverage their skills and establish connections.”

Kryptosphere is a student blockchain organization with more than 600 members spanning across France and includes multiple schools in Paris, Mareille, Rennes, Lyon, Toulouse and Angers. The federation of French student clubs conducts research, runs annual hackathons and develops blockchain courses for their members and beyond.

Boiler Blockchain is Purdue University’s Hub for Blockchain Innovation with over 100 active members. The club provides students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience with blockchain technology. Through education, skills development, thought leadership, Boiler Blockchain is helping cultivate the next generation of blockchain technology leaders at Purdue University.

Princeton Blockchain Society (PBS) offers weekly “Blockchain 101” classes that cover everything from smart contracts, DeFi, cryptocurrencies, and DAOs. PBS also conducts in-depth research and development projects in collaboration with industry partners such as Algorand Foundation to produce real-world impact.
