Webblen Partners with Algorand to Reward Positive Community Engagement Around the World

September 23rd, 2021 - We are excited to welcome Webblen to the Algorand ecosystem through the Algorand Foundation Grants program. Webblen, a decentralized platform that rewards users for engagement in their community and for small businesses to connect with their local audience has been awarded an Algorand Foundation grant to integrate the Algorand blockchain and simplify DApp development.

Webblen is a platform that gamifies life, a social economy that rewards users for getting involved in their communities. Users will be rewarded in WBLN tokens, an Algorand Standard Asset, for community participation in events, local streams, and content creation. Community members can then use their awarded WBLN to purchase goods and services from local businesses, creating a decentralized local loyalty program. Webblen also benefits local businesses and decision-makers by being a direct line of communication to their local audience and incentivizes community participation in events that align with community goals.

Webblen is a highly mission-oriented project. They believe that by creating incentives for community participation, Webblen will be the first project that will reward people for social innovation, humanitarianism, and environmentalism.

"We are excited for what's to come," said co-founder and CTO Carter Razink. "Algorand is, by far, the most robust blockchain network that I have come across. The ecosystem it has built is second to none."

“Being awarded a grant from the Algorand Foundation is huge for us,” said co-founder and CMO Nathaniel Thoreson. “So far, everything has been bootstrapped, and we have been able to do a lot, but the grant will help us kick it up a notch. We have already worked with a few other companies in the ecosystem.”

‘Webblen is based on inclusivity and places the community at the heart of their project. Supporting Webblen through our grants program will create decentralised and loyal local communities which embodies our core values of an inclusive ecosystem that provides an opportunity for everyone to harness the potential of an equitable and truly borderless economy’. - Addie Wagenknecht, Algorand Foundation, Head of Global Ecosystems and Technical Operations
