Foundation Grant recipient AIKON launches Algorand integration for ORE ID and ChainJS

Singapore, August 11th, 2020 - In May 2020, the Algorand Foundation announced AIKON as one of the first recipients of the Algorand Foundation Grants Program. This grant helped AIKON bring its suite of blockchain developer tools and services to the Algorand blockchain. Today, AIKON and the Algorand Foundation are delighted to announce the official launch of the Algorand blockchain integration for AIKON’s core service, ORE ID, and AIKON’s open-source developer library, ChainJS.

AIKON was created in 2017 and has since been working on driving mainstream adoption of blockchain technology. Their flagship product, ORE ID, is a simple user onboarding and blockchain identity management service. With ORE ID, users get a completely seamless blockchain experience that is similar to modern web 2.0 applications. ORE ID handles account creation, multisig accounts, password resets, signing transactions, and resource management - and it’s offered through a REST API and Javascript libraries that make it easy enough for any developer to use. ORE ID is especially powerful for enterprises that want to migrate their existing user base to Algorand. The ORE ID API can batch process existing email addresses or other unique IDs to create Algorand wallets for those users.

“Algorand’s native support for multisig wallets is a game-changer for us,” said Marc Blinder, CEO of AIKON. “It allows a business to create wallets on their user’s behalf, deliver digital assets to those wallets, and later give ownership of those wallets to the user without ever touching their private keys.”

ORE ID is built using AIKON's ChainJS, a single javascript helper library that abstracts the blockchain interfaces and lets developers build their application in an almost blockchain-agnostic manner. ORE ID is opening the doors to blockchain development by reducing the overhead for companies and developers to learn new blockchain technologies. With the integration of ORE ID, existing Dapps can be easily upgraded by migrating them from other blockchains to Algorand, where they can enjoy the scalability, fast finality, and security that Algorand offers.

“Providing the seamless blockchain experience facilitated by ORE ID is a significant step in enabling companies to build on Algorand,” said Sean Lee, CEO of the Algorand Foundation. “The Foundation is delighted that AIKON, as one of our first Algo Grant recipients, has been able to deliver this functionality so quickly to the Algorand Ecosystem”.

Algorand Foundation is proud to support this project with funding through the Algorand Foundation Grants Program. For more information on AIKON, please visit https://aikon.com/.
