ePioneers Receives Grant Award to Build World’s 1st Climate Wallet

By

Algorand Foundation

November 18th, 2021 - The Algorand Foundation welcomes ePioneers to the Algorand ecosystem as our latest grant recipient. In partnership with Algorand Foundation, ePioneers is building the world’s 1st NetZero climate wallet by enabling anyone to grow climate portfolios from the most biodiverse natural ecosystems in the world. These portfolios can then be traded in the ePioneer Climate Marketplace and stored in ePioneer mobile and web-based, Algorand-powered wallet.

The 1st software release is December 10th, 2021. ePioneers is excited to announce, in partnership with the World Wide Fund, the auction of 40 traceable NFTs of animals facing extinction. NFTs can be purchased directly from our digital platforms or when visiting the country. To harness the purchasing power of the international community while democratizing and anonymizing funding for nature-based solutions, ePioneers has designed and developed Latin America’s 1st visa for digital nomads and remote workers, to be announced by the Colombian government very soon.

Ilana Milkes, CEO at ePioneers added, ‘We want to make our Nature, everyone’s Nature, increasing the chances of wanting to protect it and fund restoration efforts in the region. Countries like Brazil and Colombia are not only the most biodiverse regions in the world, but can play an unprecedented role in our race to NetZero targets and Climate Tech Innovation. Latin America is the natural place for biotech and climate tech to thrive.”

Sean Lee, CEO, Algorand Foundation added, ‘The Algorand network is built on an innovative, low power consumption, Pure Proof-of-Stake consensus protocol. Our low energy, low carbon footprint approach is a core feature of the Algorand network. Algorand is the optimal choice for innovators such as ePioneers who wish to build in a sustainable way. Adoption of blockchain technology doesn't have to come at a cost to sustainability and the environment.

We're looking forward to this exciting partnership with ePioneers, and working with them to protect the most biodiverse natural ecosystems in the world: Colombia and Brazil, and supporting them as they build the world's largest climate tech infrastructure for nature-based solutions and carbon outcomes’.

The Algorand ecosystem is already on this path to choosing a more sustainable approach to building blockchain innovation and are pleased to welcome ePioneers to the Algorand ecosystem.
